Position
- Reports to the Vice-President, Corporate Affairs and
Communications.
Company
- A global leader in aluminum and packaging, as well
as aluminum recycling.
- The second largest primary aluminum producer in the
Western world
- Produces value-added aluminum in the form of sheet
ingot (mainly used by the automotive, beverage can and foil markets),
extrusion billet, rod and foundry ingots for affiliates and for third-party
customers, serving the transportation, building and construction, consumer
goods and machinery markets.
- Employs 20,000 and has operating facilities in 15
countries and regions with revenues of 2.6B in 2003.
Responsibilities:
- The development, the implementation and the management
of the Business Group’s external and internal communications infrastructure.
- The establishment and maintenance of the complete inventory
of issues facing the Group, the coordination of internal and external
communications strategies for each country where the Group is present.
- Support the Vice-President, Corporate Affairs and
Communication with Government relations and public issues in coordination
with the Company’s Corporate Affairs Group.
- Active and hands-on role working directly with each
of the Group’s business units.
Profile:
- A university degree and ideally an MBA
- At least 10 years of internal and external communications
experience in the private sector.
- Strong writing skills in both English and French.
- Systemic and process oriented combined with demonstrated
strong strategic communication skills.
- A team player with leadership and project management
skills: ability and willingness to work with people at different levels
of the hierarchy.
- Capacity to perform under stress.
- Diplomacy, respect and ability to develop, influence
and empower others.
